I grew up reading everything I could get my hands on: fairy tales, comic books, novels, dictionaries, encyclopedias, you name it. They were worlds of words, little islands of imagination, places to explore. Well, this is my island. I invite you to explore it. It took me a lifetime to write down this “map” of the terrain in my head, and I still don’t know what lurks under all the rocks and shadows. Here there is adventure, and mystery. Here there are monsters, and angels, heroes and villains.Â
I want you to come see it. I want to share the dream, the undiscovered country inside my mind. A place of shadows and light, of rage and love. I want you to decide for yourself what it is — a great fantasy story? A spiritual journey? A puzzling enigma?Â
But I want you bear in mind that I call this an “experimental novel.” Nothing is set in stone, it’s still in progress, and it doesn’t work like conventional books. I revise what I don’t like, and I don’t have a linear plot.  I have a plotline that tells the story I want to tell, and what happens on the surface might not be what’s really going on in the depths. I invite your comments and critiques, so the topography of this place becomes richer, so I can see what it means to other people.  Because I have lived here my whole life, and I finally found the courage to share the experience. Give it a chance, and see where it takes you.
The journey begins by clicking the link above for the Table of Contents, or in the Latest Update. For the record, if you’re just starting the book for the first time, I really recommend reading until at least 3. The Middle. The first two posts don’t tell you much.
 Hope you enjoy your visit!

I am currently trying to find an editor or agent who would be interested. From what I’ve learned, that takes patience and persistence. The minute it happens, this site will let you know. But thank you for the support! Do you want me to erase the anonymous post?

15 chapters done – my editor friend looked really briefly & said you sure can string a sentence together. – that’s her way of saying you are agood writer
she’ll look at it more deeper later. she has to look over dozens of articles like monthly before they are published making sure the articles are acceptable, make sense, written well etc- so that’s a huge compliment
way to go – see ya friday

I read up to chapter 4 (which is really only 2 chapters of actual story). It seems like too many characters all at once, I can’t remember their names well enough. The “ending” chapter doesn’t say much yet but I’ll assume it will be meaningful later? I’d suggest some kind of introduction of each of them separately or with more attention to individualizing detail if you must put in 8 or so siblings (and step siblings) all at once … I can’t tell if I like it yet or not though … will read more later if I get a chance

see comment on about the author page – regarding random code on this page (at least on my computer on Firefox and on IE).

Yeah, I don’t know what to do about the random code — if I erase it the project wonderful ad stops working. I’m thinking of taking it off anyway.

Hey Gavin!
I was cleaning out some files getting ready for the new papertag and I found this link. I guess I’d missed your email reply back in the day. I look forward to catching up on your novel – I know I read part of it in Word form, but this site will make my reading a lot more eye-friendly.
Cheers and Happy New Year.

Thanks, Samara, though I wish I knew which post you meant.
I clicked back to your site, which I can’t read, though I wish I could. Does anyone know how to translate a site? Someone was reading No Man an Island in Spanish (I found that through a trackback) but I don’t know how to do something like that.

Hi G.S. Williams:
Have you lived an exciting life, done things that few have done.
